Position Overview:
The SayPro Strategic Magazine Fellowship offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to work across various sectors such as communications, human resources, sustainability, legal, public relations, and performance management. The fellowship will involve active participation in projects that span diverse domains from customer service and disaster preparedness to infrastructure management and urban zoning.
As a fellow, you will be assigned a specific partnership area based on your interests and expertise. This position provides an excellent chance to collaborate with experts in the field, contribute to high-level discussions, and make meaningful contributions to industry-transforming initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the specific partnership area assigned, fellows will:

Communications and Public Relations Partnerships

Develop and execute communication strategies

Collaborate on content creation for newsletters, articles, and publications

Engage with external stakeholders to maintain strong relationships

Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness Partnerships

Support HR functions and talent management strategies

Contribute to organizational performance and innovation initiatives

Engage in capacity building and team development efforts

Sustainability & Environmental Impact Partnerships

Participate in sustainable energy, climate change, and environmental protection initiatives

Engage with policy-makers to drive change in urban development and waste management

Urban Planning & Infrastructure Development

Assist in urban management projects, zoning regulations, and infrastructure development

Contribute to planning for housing, roads, utilities, and public spaces

Customer Service & Social Development Partnerships

Contribute to community engagement and social support programs

Support social development and vulnerable population initiatives

Work alongside the public sector and non-governmental organizations to address pressing societal needs

Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management

Assist in disaster risk management programs

Support crisis communication and coordination efforts

Contribute to health, safety, and emergency response planning

Provide support in budgeting, accounting, tax collection, and financial reporting

Qualifications:

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Public Administration, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Business, Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Law, Social Development, or a similar discipline.

Graduate degrees are encouraged for specific roles, especially in urban planning, policy, or international development.

Skills & Experience:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent project management and organizational abilities

Knowledge of sustainable practices, disaster management, or urban development is a plus

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, or data analysis platforms)

Previous experience in a fellowship, internship, or similar position is preferred but not required
