Role Overview
The SayPro Engineering Facilitator will be responsible for delivering comprehensive engineering training and workshops to youth and community members, focusing on practical skills development in various fields of engineering. The role involves curriculum development, hands-on instruction, mentoring, and fostering an innovative learning environment. The facilitator will contribute to SayPro’s mission of empowering communities through education and skill-building in areas such as mechanical, electrical, civil, and software engineering.
Key Responsibilities
SayPro Curriculum Development
- Design and develop detailed engineering training programs in line with SayPro’s objectives.
- Create lesson plans, training materials, and projects for diverse engineering topics (mechanical, electrical, civil, software, etc.).
- Ensure curriculum aligns with industry standards and trends.
SayPro Workshop and Training Delivery
- Conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops in various engineering disciplines.
- Facilitate hands-on learning and practical applications of engineering concepts.
- Adjust training delivery methods to suit diverse learning styles and capabilities.
SayPro Mentoring and Guidance
- Provide mentorship and support to participants during and after training.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in learners.
- Offer career guidance and advise on further education or employment opportunities in engineering.
SayPro Assessment and Evaluation
- Develop and administer assessments to gauge participant learning and skill acquisition.
- Provide constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Monitor and report on participant progress and training outcomes.
SayPro Collaboration and Partnerships
- Collaborate with industry professionals, educational institutions, and SayPro teams to enhance training content.
- Establish partnerships for internships, job placements, or advanced learning opportunities for participants.
- Engage with stakeholders to keep training programs relevant to industry needs.
SayPro Technology Integration
- Incorporate modern technologies and tools, such as CAD software, 3D printing, and simulation software, into training.
- Explore and introduce new engineering technologies and trends to participants.
SayPro Project Management
- Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of projects within the training program.
- Guide participants through the engineering design process, from concept to prototype.
- Manage resources, timelines, and outcomes of training projects.
SayPro Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all training activities comply with safety regulations and standards, especially in practical sessions.
- Educate participants on engineering safety protocols and practices.
SayPro Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain records of training sessions, participant performance, and overall program effectiveness.
- Provide reports and insights to the management team on the success and challenges of the training programs.
SayPro Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in engineering education and integrate them into training.
- Regularly review and update training materials and methods for effectiveness and relevance.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, or related fields). A Master’s degree or teaching qualification is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, with hands-on knowledge of various engineering disciplines.
- Experience in training, teaching, or facilitating workshops is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Ability to break down complex engineering concepts into practical, understandable lessons.
- Problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of current safety standards and best practices in engineering.
