Overview: 

SayPro (Southern Africa Youth Project) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Posts Officer to manage and enhance the content strategy across our platform. The Posts Officer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of content posts, including creation, scheduling, editing, SEO optimization, and promotion. This role is key in ensuring that SayPro’s content is engaging, accessible, and effectively reaches our target audience, supporting our mission to empower youth and communities. 

Responsibilities: 

SayPro Post Creation: 

• Title and Content: Write and format engaging and accurate titles and main content for posts. 

• Categories and Tags: Assign appropriate categories and tags to organize and categorize posts for better searchability. 

• Post Format: Select the correct post format (e.g., standard, gallery, video) to match the content type. 

• Excerpt: Create custom excerpts or summaries to attract readers and improve SEO. 

• Featured Image: Upload and set a featured image that aligns with the post content. 

SayPro Post Scheduling: 

• Publish Date: Set and manage the date and time for posts to be published. 

• Draft Mode: Save posts as drafts for future editing and review. 

• Preview: Preview posts to ensure content accuracy and proper formatting before publishing. 

• Schedule Updates: Plan and schedule updates or republishing of older posts to keep content fresh. 

• Editorial Calendar: Utilize an editorial calendar to manage and schedule posts efficiently. 

SayPro Post Editing: 

• Content Updates: Regularly edit and update the content of existing posts to ensure accuracy and relevance. 

• SEO Optimization: Optimize posts for search engines by incorporating keywords, metadata, and other SEO best practices. 

• Internal Linking: Add internal links to related posts or pages to improve site navigation and SEO. 

• Formatting: Adjust formatting such as headings, lists, and text alignment for better readability and visual appeal. 

• Readability: Enhance readability by editing text for clarity, engagement, and flow. 

SayPro Post Categories and Tags Management: 

• Category Creation: Create and manage categories to organize posts effectively. 

• Tag Management: Add and manage tags to improve the searchability and grouping of content. 

• Category Hierarchy: Establish parent and child categories for a more organized structure. 

• Tag Cloud: Display a tag cloud to highlight popular or frequently used tags. 

• Category and Tag SEO: Optimize categories and tags for better visibility on search engines.

• Custom Fields: Add and manage custom fields to posts for additional content or data.

• Password Protection: Apply password protection to posts that require restricted access.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field. 

• Proven experience in content creation, management, and optimization. 

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. 

• Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools like Yoast SEO. 

• Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms. 

• Knowledge of social media platforms and content promotion strategies. 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of organization. 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

Work Environment: 

This position may require a combination of in-office and remote work, with occasional travel for meetings or content creation sessions. Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential for success in this role.
