Position Overview: SayPro is seeking a dynamic and experienced Town Planning Manager to lead our partnership initiatives in town planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing town planning projects, collaborating with municipal stakeholders, and ensuring that planning strategies align with SayPro’s mission of fostering sustainable and resilient urban environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic town planning initiatives that align with SayPro’s goals and objectives. Ensure that projects support sustainable urban development and community needs.
- Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal authorities, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Facilitate effective collaboration and communication to advance planning projects.
- Project Oversight: Manage the planning and execution of town planning projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all planning projects comply with local, regional, and national regulations and standards. Address any regulatory issues that arise during project implementation.
- Community Engagement: Engage with community members to gather input and feedback on planning initiatives. Incorporate community perspectives into planning processes to ensure projects meet local needs and preferences.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data related to urban development, land use, and demographic trends. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project outcomes and planning recommendations to stakeholders.
- Innovation and Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in town planning. Apply innovative approaches to enhance planning processes and project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., AICP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in town planning, urban development, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of town planning principles, zoning regulations, and urban development practices.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., GIS, CAD) and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
