Job Summary:
SayPro is seeking a strategic and committed Non-Executive Board Member to join our Board of Directors. The Non-Executive Board Member will provide independent oversight and strategic guidance to the organization, contributing to its governance and long-term success. This role is crucial for ensuring that SayPro adheres to its mission, complies with regulatory requirements, and effectively manages its resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance Oversight: Contribute to the governance of the organization by participating in Board meetings, providing oversight on key issues, and ensuring that the organization adheres to its mission and values.
- Strategic Input: Provide strategic advice and guidance on the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. Support the Board in setting and reviewing organizational strategy.
- Financial Oversight: Participate in the review and approval of financial reports, budgets, and financial policies. Ensure that financial resources are managed effectively and in accordance with organizational policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the performance of the organization and its leadership. Contribute to the assessment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other senior executives.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying and assessing potential risks to the organization. Support the development of strategies to mitigate risks and address challenges.
- Committee Participation: Serve on Board committees as needed. Provide expertise and oversight in areas such as audit, governance, or fundraising.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the organization in interactions with key stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and partners. Advocate for the organization’s interests and build strong external relationships.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of organizational policies and procedures. Ensure that policies are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Support the implementation of governance practices that meet industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Experience: Significant experience in senior management, governance, or a related field. Experience serving on a Board of Directors or in a non-executive role is preferred.

- Strong understanding of governance principles and organizational management.
