Job Summary:

The Data Management Officer will play a crucial role in overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of data within SayPro’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework. This role involves testing, sampling, reviewing, storing, and managing data to ensure it supports effective decision-making and reporting. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, with a strong analytical background and experience in data management and evaluation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

SayPro Data Testing, Sampling, and Review:
– Conduct regular data testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
– Develop and implement sampling strategies to assess data quality and representativeness.
– Review and analyse data sets to identify anomalies, trends, and patterns.
– Coordinate with the M&E team to ensure data testing protocols align with organisational standards and objectives.

SayPro Data Storage Management:
– Manage and oversee data storage in various systems, ensuring secure and efficient data access.
– Implement and maintain data storage solutions that align with best practices and organisational requirements.
– Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies regarding data storage.

SayPro Data Storage Review:
– Conduct regular reviews of data storage practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal data management.
– Evaluate the effectiveness of current data storage systems and recommend enhancements or upgrades.
– Collaborate with IT and data management teams to address any data storage and retrieval issues.

SayPro Documentation and Reporting:
– Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data management processes, including data testing, storage, and review procedures.
– Prepare and present reports on data management activities, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
SayPro Collaboration and Support:
– Work closely with other departments and teams to ensure data management practices are integrated and support overall organisational goals.
– Provide training and support to staff on data management protocols and best practices.

SayPro Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
– Proven experience in data management, including data testing, storage, and review, preferably in an M&E context.
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
– Proficiency in data management software and tools like databases, spreadsheets, and data visualisation tools.
– Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices for data security.
– Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
– Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

SayPro Working Conditions:

– Full-time position.
– Office-based with occasional travel required for field data collection and site visits.
– Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines and support team activities.
