Overview: 

SayPro (Southern Africa Youth Project) is seeking a technically skilled and highly organized Classified Officer to manage and oversee the operations of our online classified ads platform. The Classified Officer will be responsible for configuring and maintaining the classified ads plugin, managing ad listings, ensuring a seamless user experience, and optimizing the platform for performance and security. This role is crucial in helping SayPro generate revenue and provide valuable services to our community through classified ads. 

Responsibilities: 

SayPro Classified Ads Plugin Installation and Configuration: 

• Plugin Selection: Choose and install a suitable classified ads plugin (e.g., WP Classifieds, Classifieds WP) that aligns with the organization’s needs. 

• Initial Setup: Configure essential settings such as currency, location, ad categories, and user roles. 

• Customization: Tailor the plugin’s settings and interface to match the site’s branding and functionality requirements. 

• Integration: Ensure seamless integration with other plugins or themes to enhance functionality and user experience. 

SayPro Ad Listing Management: 

• Ad Submission: Enable users to submit their classified ads through a user-friendly front-end form. 

• Ad Approval: Review and approve submitted ads before they are published on the site, ensuring they meet content guidelines. 

• Ad Editing: Allow users to edit their own ads and provide assistance if needed. 

• Ad Deletion: Manage the deletion of ads, whether by user request or administrative decision. 

• Ad Renewal: Implement features that allow users to renew expired ads, possibly with automated reminders. 

SayPro Category and Tag Management: 

• Category Creation: Develop and maintain an organized system of categories for classified ads.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

• Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms, specifically in managing classified ads or similar functionalities. 

• Strong understanding of plugin installation, configuration, and customization. 

• Proficiency in SEO, analytics, and performance optimization. 

• Knowledge of payment gateway integration and user management systems. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. 

• Familiarity with security best practices and data protection regulations.

The Classified Officer role offers a dynamic work environment that may involve a combination of in-office and remote work.
