Position Overview:
The Finance Management Moderator is responsible for facilitating discussions, ensuring smooth financial communication, and maintaining proper oversight within the financial team or across various departments. This role involves moderating meetings, resolving financial disputes, providing guidance on financial policies, and ensuring that all financial decisions align with the organization’s goals and regulatory requirements. The Finance Management Moderator acts as a neutral party to maintain objectivity in financial decision-making and fosters collaboration between teams.
Key Responsibilities:
SayPro Meeting Facilitation and Moderation
- Moderate financial meetings, discussions, and strategy sessions to ensure productive conversations and adherence to the agenda.
- Maintain neutrality and objectivity in financial discussions, ensuring that all opinions are heard and balanced.
- Facilitate decision-making processes by guiding conversations towards consensus.
SayPro Dispute Resolution
- Act as a mediator for financial conflicts or disputes between departments or team members, providing fair and impartial solutions.
- Address disagreements regarding budgeting, financial allocation, and resource management, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
SayPro Policy Guidance and Enforcement
- Provide clarification on financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements during meetings and discussions.
- Ensure that all financial activities and decisions comply with internal policies, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and legal requirements.
SayPro Communication Management
- Foster transparent and effective communication between finance teams, management, and other departments regarding financial decisions and outcomes.
- Act as the point of contact to relay financial decisions, risks, and opportunities to various stakeholders.
SayPro Budgeting and Resource Allocation Moderation
- Oversee discussions on budget planning, resource allocation, and financial forecasting, ensuring fair and equitable distribution of resources.
- Moderate discussions on departmental budget requests and manage competing priorities in resource allocation.
SayPro Financial Decision Oversight
- Ensure financial decisions are data-driven and align with organizational goals, providing guidance to maintain objectivity in the decision-making process.
- Help teams understand the broader financial implications of their decisions and actions.
SayPro Collaboration and Team Coordination
- Promote cross-functional collaboration by facilitating discussions between finance, operations, marketing, and other departments.
- Ensure that finance-related objectives are aligned across all departments and teams are working together towards the organization’s goals.
SayPro Documenting Decisions and Action Plans
- Record and document key financial discussions, decisions, action items, and follow-up plans during meetings and sessions.
- Ensure clarity and accountability in implementing financial decisions, including tracking progress on assigned tasks.
SayPro Risk Identification and Mitigation
- Identify potential financial risks or issues during discussions and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that risk management practices are discussed and implemented across all financial projects.
SayPro Training and Support
- Offer guidance and training to finance and non-finance staff on financial communication, moderation skills, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Help team members develop effective communication strategies for discussing financial matters.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, mediation, or moderation roles.
- Experience in conflict resolution, team coordination, or financial compliance is preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mediate disputes effectively.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and accounting practices.
- Ability to remain neutral and objective in discussions, facilitating a collaborative environment.
- Proficient in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
